Ask Claude or ChatGPT about barbershops today and it can only talk in generalities — no way to check what's open near a barber right now. BOOTHmcp closes that gap. It's a free, public server that plugs directly into Claude and ChatGPT, so an AI assistant can search live BOOTH listings, check whether a specific shop has an open chair, and pull full shop details — all inside the conversation, no browser tab required to just look.
What it can answer
Ask a normal question and get a real answer pulled from BOOTH's own data: "What barbershops in Chicago have an open booth under $800 a month?" "Does [shop name] have a chair open?" "What amenities does [shop name] offer, and what are the rental plans?" Behind the scenes, three tools split the work. One searches shops in a city, with filters for rental plan and price. Another checks one specific shop's open chairs and terms. A third pulls the full profile — photos, amenities, every rental option.
Public and free, on purpose
Most tools built for AI assistants sit behind a login. BOOTHmcp doesn't, deliberately. A barber comparing shops hasn't made a BOOTH account yet, and shouldn't need one just to see what's open. It's the same information already public on every shop's listing page.
Discovery, not a booking system
BOOTHmcp only looks things up. It can't create a booking, message an owner, or move money. Every result carries a link back to the real listing, and now also a link to create a free account — the next step once a barber finds a shop worth pursuing. Applying happens on BOOTH, where an owner can see it and respond.
Add it to Claude or ChatGPT
In Claude: Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, then paste https://www.boothapp.co/api/mcp. In ChatGPT: turn on Developer mode under Settings, Connectors, then add a custom connector with the same URL. No sign in required on either side. Ask about a city and see what comes back.
