About BOOTH

BOOTH is the first marketplace connecting barbershop owners with independent barbers seeking chair or “booth” rentals. Built for the gig era of barbering, BOOTH helps shop owners fill their chairs and gives barbers the flexibility to open up their opportunities for work locations. Founded by Eduardo Ramos, a Mexican-American son of immigrants and Chicago-based product designer, barber, and barbershop owner (ABSworkspace), BOOTH launched in beta on December 28, 2025 and is currently live.

Founder Bio

Eduardo Ramos started cutting hair at 13, working out of his parents’ basement in Berwyn, Illinois. During high school, he was already known as his class’s barber — regularly having classmates waiting after school, charging $5 a cut. He continued to cut in his Dominican University dorm while studying International Business and Communications, then in barbershops through the remainder of college and beyond, eventually becoming an owner himself.

When he built ABS Workspace, he experienced the gap in shop and barber discoverability and shop management firsthand, living the lack of barber infrastructure from the ground up. He saw a shift of traveling barbers going independent from shop to shop with no infrastructure to support that dynamic — so he built BOOTH.

Currently living in North Lawndale (Little Village) and working out of Pilsen, he owns and operates ABS Workspace, a creative barber workspace studio in Chicago that houses his barbershop, LAB96 — his web design agency — and serves as the BOOTH platform headquarters. He handles product design, development, and the business solo, building alongside motivated individuals with the aspiration to create the ecosystem of tomorrow for the barber industry.
